About
I started out my journalism career at the international media company Jungle Creations before going on to work at the likes of ITN, the Independent and the Daily Mail and have regularly freelanced since 2019 before going fully self-employed in 2024.
After living in London for a decade, I moved back to my original home in Scotland in early 2026. However, I still have a base in the capital and am available for in-person work in London, Glasgow and Edinburgh – as well as remote shifts anywhere in the world.
I specialise in covering human interest stories, film and television, and topics of historical and societal interest. Highlights from my career so far include high-profile interviews with celebrities including Kevin McCloud, Kirstie Allsopp and David Bowie collaborators Woody Woodmansey and George Underwood, as well as uncovering viral stories like the Oceangate co-founder's plans to dive to the 'Devil's Sinkhole' and a rogue landlord renting out tents in central London for £68 a night.
My work on mental health, in particular, has featured in the likes of Cosmopolitan and Stylist magazines as well as national newspapers including the Independent, the Metro and the Daily Mail. As a diagnosed OCD sufferer, I am keen to spread awareness in this area.
I am also an award-winning Scots language author and publish fiction separately under the name Grae. At the time of writing in March 2026, I have published two novels and two children's books.
I have been a regular commentator on Scots language news at the National since 2021 and was featured in the Saltire Society's 40 Under 40 list for my work in the languages category in 2023.
